10.000 Steps Challenge

Mountain tour to the SCHWARZ peak

Seven to nine hours: That's how much Germans sit on average every day. The lack of movement and the one-sided posture are a risk to our physical and mental health. People who move more in their daily lives live healthier, are leaner and fitter. That's why health experts recommend taking about 10,000 steps every day.

Thus, for the first time, a 10,000 step challenge was initiated at SCHWARZ as an innovation within the framework of the company's health management.

From June 12 to July 10, 13 teams with a total of 70 participants set out to climb the imaginary "SCHWARZ peak". The motivated participants had already reached this common goal with 20 million steps after 2 ½ weeks. However, there was no question of giving up, the challenge continued, because it was still a question of which teams could qualify for the 3 winning places. The winning prizes will be presented to the teams at our summer party at the end of July. By the end of the Challenge, everyone involved had made it to a proud total of more than 33 million steps.

"We never thought that we would be able to motivate so many employees to take part in this project and raise awareness of exercise and team spirit in a fun way," said the members of the Health Working Group.
