Gebr. Schwarz donates to the Rottweiler Tafel

Support urgently needed

The rush in front of the Tafel in Rottweil, has increased significantly in recent weeks. The increased demand as a result of inflation and the Ukraine crisis is pushing the approximately 25 volunteers of the Rottweiler Tafel to the limits. It is clearly noticeable that more people are now coming because they can no longer afford the food in the supermarket.

Three days a week, the Tafel is open for 2½ h and offers food of good quality that is donated by food markets or manufacturers. A total of about 1,400 entitlement vouchers are issued, with which needy individuals or families can shop.

Gebr. Schwarz GmbH, supports the Rottweiler Tafel at the end of the year with a donation of 2,000 €. In a personal conversation, the managing directors, Danny Schwarz and Jens Roth, informed themselves about what is happening on site. Gisela Rehberg, from the Tafel Rottweil and Anton Graf from the DRK Rottweil, reported about the processes but also about new challenges. In order to continuously maintain the supply, a high logistical effort has to be mastered. Rising energy costs, limited space and a decline in donations are current problems that the organization team has to deal with.

During our conversation, we sensed a high level of commitment and at the same time a great passion among the people in charge of the Tafel. We are glad that we could make a small contribution to appreciate and support the work of the Tafel.
