From the order to the finished product
Gebrüder Schwarz is breaking new ground and gave young interested people insights into the professional worlds of SCHWARZ on 20. October 2023. In a plant tour, our visitors were able to experience the fields of activity and professions at SCHWARZ live and, along the way, produce a functional miniature car.
At the beginning, the visitors were welcomed and received general information about the professions at SCHWARZ. In the research and development department, the design process with CAD-supported systems was explained. First prototypes are also produced here by using 3D printers.
Afterwards, the commercial aspects were explained on the basis of an operating order and the start of the production process was initiated. In the toolmaking department, the participants learned about metalworking and had a go themselves. At the mechatronics technician's station, the diversity of this training was illustrated and underpinned with a practical exercise.
Afterwards, they went to the fully automated high-rack warehouse to follow the internal flow of goods. This is also where the material was retrieved, which was then processed in the subsequent injection molding process to produce the vehicle chassis. Now the miniature car could be completed using final assembly steps. The significance of IT is becoming increasingly important in a production company, so that those job profiles were also presented.
At the end of the tour, our visitors were able to further exchange ideas with trainers and trainees over a grilled sausage and a refreshing drink.
With more than 50 participants, this event was extremely successful, said Kathrin Meboldt - responsible for apprenticeship at SCHWARZ. "Our team of trainers and trainees really went all out with this event and created an extraordinarily creative flow."
