Running for a good cause
The 10,000 Steps Challenge took place for the second time at Gebr. Schwarz and was once again organised by our health working group. Team spirit and health took centre stage. From 29 May to 30 June, 10 teams with a total of 56 participants set off on a tour of Germany. The aim was to circumnavigate Germany once. Along the way were many of our customers and suppliers, who we paid a virtual visit to. In the end, more than 22,000,000 steps were completed, which corresponds to a distance of approx. 17,500 kilometres.
Of course, a challenge also produces winners. Instead of non-cash prizes, the winning teams received donations totalling €1,000. The teams were free to decide which social institution or organisation they wanted to support.
- Team ‘Schwarz Turtles’: €500 to the “Engelsburg” kindergarten in Neukirch
- Team ‘Wir tun es laufend!’: €300 to the children's and youth hospice in Rottweil
- Team ‘Schwungrad der Firma’: €200 to the Wärmestube Rottweil
The 10,000 Steps Challenge once again generated great enthusiasm among the participants. The award ceremony took place at this year's summer party in July. The donations will be handed over to the organisations personally in the next few days.
